ß1 The inner mystery of the Holy Trinity lies in love, self-
                  gift and joy. The Father loves the Son; the Son makes a gift
                  of himself to the Father; and the Holy Spirit proceeds from
                  the Father and the Son, giving joy to both. It is only when
                  we find our joy in mutually sharing our persons and
                  possessions with others that our community life acquires
                  the holiness and image of the Blessed Trinity.
                 ß2 Holy Eucharist is the mystery of prayer, suffering and
                  service. As a eucharistic community, ours has to be a
                  community of persons praying together; of persons sincerely
                                                       6
                  involving themselves in all the sufferings of the community; 7
                  and of persons excelling in their life of serving one another,
                                          8
                  after the example of Jesus, our Lord and Master, who washed
                  the feet of his disciples.
                 ß3 The traits of apostolic activities of the early Church, as
                                                                       9
                  described in the Acts of the Apostles, may be summarized
                  as follows:
                 - a community that diligently assembled together in the
                  church with one heart and one soul;
                 - a community that did, as a continuation of the Eucharistic
                  banquet, take part in the common meals with simplicity of
                  heart and joy;
                 - a community that remained steadfast in hearing the Word
                  of God and following the apostolic teaching;
                 - a community that was keen on sharing their possession
                  among themselves as well as among those around it who
                  were in greater want;
                 - a community that remained engaged in praising God and
                  was held in great esteem by the people outside it.
                 ß4 The Holy Family was a resort where all its members, under
                  the fatherly guidance of St. Joseph, could help and promote
                  each other through love, unity, understanding, co-operation
                                     10
                  and encouragement. The Holy Family of Nazareth stood
                  on earth as a perfect symbol and reflection of the heavenly
