be able to carry out the service of the orphaned and

supportless among the people of God in a firm and stable
manner. Therefore we are bound to protect and increase our
material resources with a spirit of responsibility to the
community and commitment to the People of God. Avoiding
all luxury, excessive desire of the profit and monetary greed,
we have to use the material resources entrusted to us by the
Lord through the community, like the faithful steward.
203 The administration of the temporal goods of the Religious
Community are to be carried out as per CCEO 1007-1054.
204 All the temporal goods commonly earned by the Institute or
it obtains in any other manner are to be protected and
administered for the Institute by the Superior General through
the Financial Officer. Whatever is earned by the Region,
Local Community, Institutions etc., or is obtained by them
as gift or in any other manner, are protected and administered
by the Regional Superior for the Region, by the Local
Superior for the Local Community, by the Head of the
Institution for the Institution, through their respective
Finance Officer (Procurator). They do so for the sake of and
in the name of the Community.
205 When deemed necessary, the Superior General with the
consent of her Council may transfer the common goods of
the Congregation to a Region or a Local Community.
similarly, the Superior General with the consent of her
Council may give the directive so that the goods of a local
house or institute may be transferred to another house or
institute, or of a local house or institute to the General House.
206 The Superiors shall register the temporal properties of the
Congregation in such way that the rights of the Community
are protected by the civil law too.
207 For things like borrowing or spending money beyond the
limits permitted by our law, buying, selling, mortgaging or
