221 Those who leave the Congregation as well as those who are
dismissed shall return their religious dress to the
Congregation.
222 Those who leave the Congregation or are dismissed from it
or join some other congregation shall have right only for
their patrimony. They cannot claim anything from the
Congregation for any kind of work performed therein.
However, the superiors shall have love and justice for them
and help them to tide over the immediate difficulties of the
initial times.
223 A perpetually professed member shall not ask for the indult
of dispensation from vows except for the most grave reasons.
If, after sufficient prayer and deliberation, she discerns that
her call is not for religious life, she shall submit a petition to
the Superior General, who shall forward it, along with her
votum and that of the Council, to the Archeparch for final
decision.
224 A member shall be held dismissed from the Congregation
by the law itself, who has publicly rejected to the Catholic
faith or has celebrated or attempted marriage, even only a
civil one. On such occasions, the Superior General, having
consulted the Council, shall issue a declaration on the facts
so that the dismissal is juridically established. She shall

inform the Archeparch as soon as possible, so that further
proceedings may be initiated.
Exclaustration
225 The Archeparch gives the permission for exclaustration to a
member for a period not exceeding 3 years, after having heard
the Superior General and the Council. 40
226 When there are just reasons, observing equity and charity,
on a request by the Superior General with the consent of her
Council, the Archeparch may impose exclaustration on a
finally professed member for a period not exceeding 3 years.
