General Synaxis

140 The General Synaxis is the supreme collegial assembly of
the representatives of the whole Congregation. As the sign
and experience of the unity of the entire Institute in love, the
General Synaxis is an occasion, redeeming and paschal, for
the entire Congregation to experience Godís shower of
blessings and the action His Holy Spirit . The Synaxis, as it
is conducted in fraternity, joy, prayer and reflection, with
the participation of all the members, should be made, by its
deliberations and steps of renewal, an event beneficial for
the Institute and the entire Church. 17

Functions
141 i. to elect the superiors as per Constitutions.

ii. to discuss and evaluate the administration, activities and
formation programmes of the Institute

iii. to find out ways and means to protect the charism of the
Founding Father and to foster appropriate renewal in accord
with that patrimony.
iv. to deliberate matters concerning the prayer life, religious
life, community life, common discipline etc. of the Institute
and to bring about necessary renewal and strengthening.
v. to formulate the general policies regarding our apostolic
activities and to articulate ways of making them timely and
conducive to our bearing witness to the Gospel values.

vi. to discuss and decide the necessary modifications and
additions to be brought about in the Constitutions and
Directory;
vii. to discuss the problems being urgently faced with by the
Institute and to arrive at appropriate solutions thereto.
viii. to examine and evaluate the financial situation of the
Institute;
