                 Apostolate of Religious Consecration

84 God has called us to the Congregation of St. Joseph so that
we may achieve the perfection of holiness and love by living
pure and holy before Him. Through the gift of His merciful
love to us, He has offered us a call and grace, in the first
place, to love God with our entire soul, entire heart, entire
might and entire heart, and, together with that, to love our
neighbour as ourselves. This being so, our primary
                                           12
apostolate is to achieve holiness of life, perfection of virtues
and union with God. In this regard, our model is St. Paul,
the prince of the Apostles, who was ever diligent lest he
should be trapped by the tragedy of getting himself rejected,
                                               13
after having preached to others .
It is impossible to attain to the love of God and consequent
union with Him without a life of intense prayer and
                                                                    14
sacrifice together with Jesus. Therefore we should discern
                          15
the apostolic value of prayer and suffering, and nurture
                                              16
and foster in our community, in conformity with the inner
inspiration of the individuals and judgement of the superiors,
meditative, mystical, ascetical and ashramite styles of life.

                 Service of the Orphaned
85 ß1 The first and foremost apostolic obligation entrusted to
us by our Founding Father through the establishment of the
Community of St. Joseph is the caring and promotion of the
orphaned and supportless among the children of God. 17
Therefore, in all our activities primacy has to be assigned to
the above-mentioned intention of the Founding Father. Our
                                                                     19
