and paschal mystery of Christ. The internal aloneness,
emptiness and sorrows consequent upon the vow of chastity
are but the price we pay so that we, in the Church, may
participate in the above mysteries of Christ so as to belong
entirely to God and His People.
26 The fulfillment we get through chastity consists not only in
the fact that it enables us to live fully in praise of Godís
glory, as we are made, through our total consecration to God,
the temples of the living God and His Spirit; it also enables
16
us to accept the merciful love of Jesus into all the depths of
our womanly personality, that is, into our power of making
a loving self-gift to others by serving them as a mother,
daughter, sister and bride. We thereby make a gift of Christís
love to others in prayer, suffering and service, especially to
the orphaned ones who are also the dear ones of God. By so
living we make ourselves persons loving God and His People,
as well as persons being loved by them. These are the
blessings and fulfillment our life of vowed chastity is capable
of gifting us with.
Means of Fostering Chastity
27 Life of chastity will be most secure in a community of
overflowing love, cordiality, sisterliness and contentment .
17
Therefore each one should find and promote in oneís own
community the joy of experiencing the merciful love of Jesus
and the consequent pleasantness of mind. Superiors as well
as the members of the community should take care and
interest and give mutual encouragement and recognition, so
that each one may creatively utilize oneís own talents in
employing oneís body and soul to the worshipful service of
18
God and merciful service of His people. 19
28 We have to be particularly earnest about making use of those
means which have been proved most effective, by experience
and exercise, for the observance of the vow of chastity.
