which the institute has inherited from its Founder wherewith
it is enabled to achieve its goal or purpose.
11. The charism of our early community lies in the spiritual
capital which our first members have formed out of the
religious patrimony of the Founding Father by living a life
of total religious consecration and service of the abandoned,
and which they have handed over to us as enshrined in the
early history and traditions of the Congregation.
12. The religious culture of the SJC involves the spiritual vision
and the commitment to the apostolate of the service of the
abandoned which we have inherited from our Founding
Father and early Mothers. We have to let our mind, conscious
as well as unconscious, be deeply influenced by this culture,
which influence should be reflected, in accord with the needs
of the time visibly, authentically and credibly, in our religious
consecration and apostolate of compassionate love.
13. The religious vision our Founding Father has imparted to us,
his spiritual daughters, may be summed up as follows:
ß1 The SJC Sisters are to live giving without intermission
praise and glory to God through their words and deeds. 12
11
13
ß2 We have to see to it that through a spotless life the holiness
and sanctity of God the Father are reflected in us and made
14
visible to others; 15
ß3 We have to be ourselves persons experiencing the
boundless mercy of God the Father infused into us through
His Son, as well as persons transmitting Godís mercy to
16
others; 17
ß4 The SJC sisters are to communicate Godís mercy, above
all, to the poor of God, suffering and helpless; 18
ß5 St. Joseph, who through his life and service spent himself
in an uninterrupted praise of God, is our model and patron
in our life of consecration and service.
