Among them the most important are the following:
Eucharistic devotion; meditation on the Word of God;
devotion to the ever Blessed Virgin Mary; devotion to St.
Joseph the protector of the virgins; asceticism; care and
moderation with regard to imagination, speech, and the use
of the media; the humility and prudence proper to religious
in dealing with others.
In the practice of chastity it is not enough that each one takes

avoid all kinds of dealings that may adversely affect the good
name of the community and be detrimental to the
effectiveness of our apostolate.
Evangelical Poverty
ìLet the poor and needy praise your name!î (Ps. 74:21)
Blessedness of Poverty
29 With the awareness that God is our greatest treasure, and
20
without setting our heart on temporal things, which are
21
consumed by moth and stolen by thieves, we, in the vow
of poverty, thankfully offer back to God all we have together
with all we are, as He is the real giver and owner of them.
By so doing we make ourselves a constant offering in praise
of divine glory.
30 The vow of poverty endows us with the blessing of being
able to live by participating in the self-sacrifice of Jesus,
who, though he was rich, yet for our sakes became poor, so
that by his poverty we might become rich. 22
31 We, the SJC sisters, are specially commissioned to transmit
that merciful love of God, which has been showered on us
in the form spiritual and temporal riches, to His children,
