These Knānāya responsibilities invite every couple, from the first
moment of their marriage, to form a community of persons that is expressed
in family ties, and to become a Sanctuary of Life both in quantity and
quality, i.e., in transmission and transformation of life.

These age-old traditions proclaim the gospel of life, above all in
daily living, especially through the service of charity. These traditions
explain that marriage is open to receiving life which is the divine gift of
God and proclaiming the basic identity of the family as the sacred place
(Sanctuary), where, by the grace of the Almighty, the spouses co-operate in
the creative work of God the Father. According to these customs, the family
for this community is a treasury of Christian values.
