clearly: “It is by means of ‘inculturation’ that one proceeds towards the full
restoration of the covenant with the Wisdom of God, which is Christ
Himself. The whole Church will be enriched also by the cultures which,
though lacking technology, abound in human wisdom and are enlivened by

profound moral values”.
One particular issue that surfaced during this study is the need for
appropriate pastoral assistance to be provided by Southist pastors for the
families and individuals who migrate to foreign countries, just as they are
provided for in the territorium proprium. Conscious care and effort are to be
taken to protect and preserve these age-old traditions to exist and to impart
to a new generation. In the contemporary context, where globalization has
changed the life-style of the individual and the family, and where the world
has become a global village, this Knānāya community has been given a
unique charism, rooted in history and culture and Church, and has a
responsibility to be faithful to the integrity of this charism. This is a gift of
the Holy Spirit and the contemporary world is in need of their witness.

The particular values, so important to Pope John Paul II and
concretized through Southist ritual and ceremony, are a prophetic witness to
a world that too often turns to selfishness and indifference towards the other
and will reach its fullness in Christ only in community and communion.
This is a moment of opportunity and challenge for the entire Southist
community to come together and be for the Church and the world the
Domestic Church as a Sanctuary of Life.
