A sacrament, which helps us to fight and even die for Christ
• What is confirmation?
In this sacrament, Holy Spirit comes and strengthens the soul. This makes Christians
soldiers of Christ.

CHURCH PRECEPTS

The precepts (commandments) show how we must live. God gave the Ten Commandments
to Moses. Our Lord handed down these commandments to His church and gave the church
the power to make new laws as time went on.

1. You shall attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation and rest from servile labor
2. You shall confess your sins at least once a year
3. You shall receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter season
4. You shall observe the days of fasting and abstinence established by the Church
5. You shall help to provide for the needs of the Church

WORKS OF MERCY
The spiritual and corporal works of mercy are acts of love, which we show to Christ
through the members of His mystical body. Whatever we do for a member of the Body of
Christ, we do for Christ. And we can help non-Catholics to become members of Christ’s
Body by showing love towards them.

CHIEF CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY

Acts of love that come from the heart and are intended to help our neighbor in his bodily
needs.
