KURIAKO AND ALEY MUTHOLATH

(Mutholath Kuriako and his wife Aley Kadiyampallil)

MR. KURIAKO CHACKO MUTHOLATH was born 1884 in Cherpunkal Mutholath family. He married
ALEY KORAH KADIYAMPALLIL in Cherpunkal, daughter of KORAH MATHAN KADIYAMPAL-
LIL. She was born 1889 in Punnathura Kadiyampallil family.

Kuriako Mutholath was a very popular businessperson in Cherpunkal. He was charitable, credible, and hard-
working. He supported the family during the difficult times of history.

He was the eldest in his family. After his education he helped his father in agriculture. Since he was smart and
hardworking, a businessman from Athirampuzha asked to help him in business. Thus, Kuriakose began to
learn business. Later he started his own business with the cooperation of his brothers. He had saved some
money from his salary and the rest he got as loan from chitti and some from his father. His business was to
buy grocery from Athirampuzha and sell at Cherpunkal market. The business was very prosperous till the First
World War. Because of the war, the economy went bad and it had affected his business.

MR. KURIAKO CHACKO MUTHOLATH died on May 26, 1974 at Kizhakke varikattu
house Cherpunkal. His burial was on May 27, 1974 at Cherpunkal Kalloor Church.

His wife ALEY KORAH KADIYAMPALLIL died on July 25, 1965 in Pala Government Hospital and
was buried on July 26, 1965, Cherpunkal Kalloor Church.
